The website represents the research results of two projects by 2012-2015, MOST and 2019, Academia Sinica Center for Digital Cultures, and was officially launched in July 2020. It examines from a contemporary perspective the illness events which people experienced throughout Chinese history, reflecting on the wisdom and attitude of the ancients. Applying “events” and “maps” to research the illness narrative is a cross-disciplinary undertaking, which combines the technical tools of digital humanities with the specific problematics, and reveals the emphasis in the different texts on illness narratives from different historical periods through visualized graphs and maps.
